Baobab held capacity enhancement workshops for first responders to sexual and Gender-Based Violence from the 13th -23rd of March in the following states, Jigawa, Kano and Bauchi.
The training enlightened participants on what Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) is and the role of duty bearers in curbibg the increasing menace in the society.
The different sessions took participants through the core concepts of Sexual and Gender Based Violence, need for the VAPP Act implementation amongst other laws against SGBV to which Nigeria is signatory to.
The first responders at the training include staff of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA's), Civil Society Organizations (CSO's) working on SGBV, Law enforcement agencies, Persons with Disabilities (PWD's) to mention a few.
